RESTORING OLD DAMAGED PHOTOS?

Maybe you still have an old photo of your parents, grandparents or even great-grandparents somewhere. Possibly it got damaged over time? Photos are irreplaceable and have a lot of emotional value. Often old photographs carry significant traces of viewing them time after time, and going from hand to hand or they have faded by the light even when they were safe in an album. Often there are stains, scratches, creases and other damages on the photos. Sometimes so bad that parts of the image have disappeared completely. Old photos (black and white or sepia) can also be coloured upon request.

PHOTO RESTORATION: WHAT'S THE PRICE?

The cost of the repair is mainly determined by the duration of the operation. Since not every photo requires the same amount of Photoshop tricks or time it is not possible to use “standard prices”. So, it is best to request a quote in advance for the restoration of your beloved photo.

Under simple restoration we include: removing light scratches, editing dull colours, colour correction, getting rid of small spots, general improvement of contrast, 1 person in the image. It becomes more complex restoration when it involves multiple people in the image, correcting larger spots, restoring and creating missing parts, colouring in black-and-white photo, restoring ruined edges.

An old photo is first scanned and brought back to life using a number of Photoshop techniques.

    – You bring the photo(s) to us yourself or
    – You may send the photo(s) by registered mail to our address or
    – Preferably scan your photo (s) (or have it done) not less than 300 dpi, and send the image via mail. (We can scan for you up to 2400 dpi.)
    – If it concerns multiple images, you can use WeTransfer.
  2. WE MAKE A PRICE QUOTE (FREE AND WITHOUT COMMITMENT)
  3. YOU GIVE YOUR AGREEMENT
  4. WE CARRY OUT THE REPAIR AND GIVE YOU THE RESULT FOR APPROVAL BACK.

For the best quality restoration, we recommend sending photos as high-resolution JPEG, TIFF, or even PDF files, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. If you’d like us to scan your photo, we can do so using our A3 scanner at resolutions up to 2100 dpi. If your original photo is larger than A3, that’s not a problem; we can still accommodate it.
We always provide a preview of the restored photo with a watermark for your approval. If you are unsatisfied with any aspect, we will make adjustments until you are completely happy with the result.

No, there is no age limit for photo restoration. We can restore photos that are over a hundred years old or even those with significant damage. The final result will depend on how much detail remains in the original image.
